Course Description:
Recording Studio will explore recording techniques, proper care and use of studio equipment, and editing through Logic Pro X. The final product of this class will be a website designed as a digital portfolio of the work created in class and the process in which that occurred.
Materials:
Evaluation:
Website will be built using Weebly. Students will update their websites with new project posts, artist statements, and other influential material.
Daily Work/Class Participation will be based on students’ ability to stick to a designated timeline for independent project work. You will be expected to demonstrate good project workflow and goal setting. Students are required to communicate with the teacher to ‘book’ 3 hours worth of studio sessions a week during a project period.
Projects will be assigned throughout the semester. These projects will involve some elements of editing techniques, sound design, recording, and other skills that the students will be asked to complete. Projects will always be assigned well in advance of their due date. While the teacher will work with each student, Late Work is highly discouraged and may result in a reduced grade.
